The Awards of the 8th International Meeting of Archaeological Film of the Mediterranean Area
On May 16th, the International Jury and the Organizing Committee of the 8th AGON FESTIVAL,announced the following Honorable Mentions and Awards:
THE AWARDS OF THE “ARCHAEOLOGY AND ARTS” MAGAZINE
The “Archaeology and Arts” magazine grants Special Awards, to the following films:
«ENQUETE AU PAYS DES MORTS» directed by Dominique Adt, produced by 8 et Plus, France 3 Paris, View Group, Kalimago Films (France)
«ΤΟ.RΑ.ΚΕ.» directed by Philippos Koutsaftis, produced by the 4th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities (Greece)
«THE MILLER OF NEMEA» directed by Lena Voudouri, produced by Cinetic (Greece).
•The AWARD FOR ARCHAEOLOGY is granted to the film «KHUFU REVEALED», directed by Florence Tran, produced by GEDEON Programmes (France).

•The AWARD FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL REPORTING is granted to the film «GODS FOR SALE», directed by Michel Brent, produced by Pacific Productions (BELGIUM).
•The AWARD FOR EDUCATIONAL FILM is granted to the film «DIOLKOS FOR 1500 YEARS» directed by Th. Tassios, G. Polyzos, N. Mikas, produced by the Technical Chamber of Greece (GREECE). The Award is offered by CIRAS, the Archaeological Film Festival of Amiens, France.
•The AWARD FOR ORIGINALITY is granted to the «HERCULANEUM. DIARIES OF DARKNESS AND LIGHT» directed and produced by Marcellino de Baggis (ITALY).
•The AWARD FOR SCRIPT, is granted to the film «THE BRONZE CARTEL – TRADE FLOURISHING IN THE MEDITERRANEAN», directed by Franz Leopold Schmelzer and Gerhard Rekel, produced by ZDF (GERMANY)
•The AWARD FOR PHOTOGRAPHY, is granted to the film «TREASURE HUNT IN THE DEPTH»,directed by Kay Siering and Marc Brasse, produced by ZDF (GERMANY).
•The AWARD FOR BEST PRODUCTION, is granted to the film «BREAKING TH MAYA CODE», directed by David Lebrun, produced by Night Fire Films (USA).
•The AWARD FOR DIRECTION - GRAND PRIX OF THE JURY, is granted to the film «WHEN THE EGYPTIANS SAILED ON THE RED SEA» directed by Stephane Begoin, produced by Sombrero & Co.
The Organizing Committee of AGON Festival grants an Honorable Mention to the film THE EXILED, directed by Kalliopi Legaki, produced by the Hellenic Foundation of Historical Research.
The AWARD OF THE PUBLIC is granted to the film THE CALL OF THE MOUNTAIN, directed by Stelios Apostolopoulos, produced by ANEMON Production.
