Rafail Pylarinos 

Rafail Pylarinos born in Athens at 1962 and he is son of musician’s family. His father and brother are from the old, executive cadres of the Athens’s State Orchestra and Lyric Scene.

He was almost very young when dedicated himself in the study of the classic music by studying piano. Without any delay instructed from his father the first lessons of trombone, and enrolled at the Athens Advanced Theoretical Hellenic Conservatory. His love for Opera revealed very quickly, event that induce him to study always in the same Conservatory as tenor. Himself following, his family tradition participated repeatedly at the National Opera of Greece playing trombone, enriching by this way his music culture of the Italian repertoire.

Later on, having acquired the Theoretical Diploma (Harmony,Counterpoint, and Fugue) and feeling the need to offer him, a greater and thorough musical education, departed to Italy where he admitted after examinations in the class of Orchestra Management at the Santa Cecilia Music Academy of Rome, under the instruction of the Italian Maestro Bruno Aprea. Moreover, he trained simultaneously in the music of a Baroque as proclassical music maestro. Immediately after, he acquired the Orchestra Management Diploma at July of 1992, worked as assistant maestro of Maestro Α. Μ. Giuri at the Summer Seminars and Concerts of the Ferentino Orchestral Festival in Rome.

All during the summer of 1993, he worked as conductor at the Musical Ensembles of the State Hellenic Radio-Television (ΕRΤ) and at the city of Kalamata, conducted the last summer journey concerto of the Contemporary Music Orchestra.

From the April of 1994 under the instruction of Maestro Donato Renzetti pursues one of  the most  important Perfection Schools for conductors at the Music Academy of Pescara.

At July of 1994, invited by the Ferentino’s Festival to lead the Summer Night Dream of Mendelssohn, which, the entire Music and Theatrical performance presented for first time in Italy.

At October of 1994, he was admitted after examinations in one of the most important music seminars of Italy that organized by the Santa Cecilia Symphonic Orchestra of Rome, for distinction of new maestros (MASTER CLASS) under the instruction of the Orchestra’s artistic director Daniel Gatti.

At the same period continues to work in Greek as conductor with the Musical Ensembles of the State Hellenic Radio-Television (ΕRΤ).

At September of 1995 entrusted him by Mr. Nikos Katsouridis and Mrs. Isabella Mavraki the composition of the musical texture of the film «TRANZITO». The film was a production of the Hellenic Cinema Centre, and presented in a special projection at the Cinema Festival of Thessalonica.

From October of 1995 appointed as professor of composition of the Hellenic Conservatory.

At the summer of 1996 orchestrated and leaded the symphonic performance of the Cypriot Composer Marios Meletios «Lemonanthusa mou Kyra, Ammochostos» in poetical works of the Minister of National Education and Culture of Cyprus Mrs. Claire Aggelides.

The symphonic performance recorded in CD in Athens by the musicians of the Athens State Orchestra and presented at September of 1996, in the big theatres of Cyprus as: (The Curion, The Blind School and the Patichion) with , the State Orchestra of Cyprus and the choral of Leandros Sitaros.

At November of 1996 conducted the Fourth Symphony of Beethoven with the Santa Cecila Symphonic Orchestra of Rome.

At 9^th of May of 1997 conducted the Athens State Orchestra the performance of concerto for flute in RE major of the W. Α. Mozart, the concert for violin and piano of the F. Mendelssohn and the No 4 Symphony "ITALIANA" of the same Composer.

At 16^th of August of 1997 conducted one concerto with arias from Operas in the city of Lutraki with the Athens Attica Orchestra.

At 18^th of October of 1997 within the context of the Festival of Athens, directed at the Conservatory of Herodes Attic – Contemporary Music Orchestra of  ΕRΤ.

The February of 1998 in cooperation of the Prefecture of Piraeus created the Piraeus Symphony Orchestra «Dimitris Mitropoulos» and undertakes the Artistic management of the Orchestra as well as and the organization and the management all its concerts.
